Currently undergoing a $110-million renovation for its 50th anniversary in 2018, Woodruff is a hub for both visual and performing arts. Though the Alliance Theatre won’t return until next year (while construction on the playhouse wraps up, the award-winning drama group is staging performances in unexpected venues across this city), visitors can still take in a performance by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall, or ponder works by a diverse cadre of artists like Alex Katz, Walker Evans, and Thornton Dial at the High Museum of Art. Stop by every Sunday for CreateATL, a free afternoon of family-friendly arts activities and workshops. 1280 Peachtree Street, 404-733-4200, woodruffcenter.org
