Ever wondered what it’s like inside the country’s highest office? You can peek inside an impressive life-size replica of Jimmy Carter’s Oval Office at his presidential library and museum off Freedom Parkway. Beyond exhibits detailing the 39th president’s time in office and temporary exhibits (currently detailing the former president’s fight against the nearly eradicated guinea worm disease), the Carter Library also hosts an impressive number of author readings and guest speakers. Among recent visitors: GPB host Celeste Headlee, former White House photographer Pete Souza, and National Geographic photographer Alison Wright. 453 Freedom Parkway, 404-420-5100, cartercenter.org
