Though Blind Willie’s has a Cajun feel and Northside Tavern has more of a roadhouse vibe, these two mainstays have a lot in common.  Small, dark, and loud, these blues bars that are full of character—and interesting characters. They also both have a knack for getting blues greats to grace their tiny stages. At Northside, watch regular Beverly “Guitar” Watkins, 77, play her guitar behind her head. And don’t miss local favorite Francine Reed sing “Wild Women (Don’t Get the Blues)” at Blind Willie’s. 828 North Highland Avenue, 404-873-2583, blindwilliesblues.com; 1058 Howell Mill Road, 404-874-8745, northsidetavern.com
