Churches Across Atlanta - North Point Community Church: North Point in Alpharetta is the mother church for the nondenominational, evangelical North Point Ministries, which includes five campuses and reaches more than 30,000 weekly attendees—making it one of the largest churches in the nation. Founded in 1995 by Andy Stanley, the church uses state-of-the-art staging, programming, and broadcasting to create services that “unchurched people love to attend.” From running the TV cameras to staffing the nursery, every Sunday morning requires 2,000 volunteers. Stanley is the son of Dr. Charles F. Stanley, longtime pastor of First Baptist Church Atlanta, who drew criticism in 1997 for moving the historic Midtown congregation to Dunwoody, where he continues to serve as pastor. 4350 North Point Parkway, Alpharetta, 678-892-5000, - Photo Albums - Atlanta Magazine
