What are you doing this weekend June 12-15

Treat Dad to beer or Swedish meatballs

Good news—if you forgot that Father’s Day was this Sunday, here’s your reminder! You’re welcome. Now allow us to give you a few event ideas and a few stylish gift suggestions. You’re welcome, again.

Brookhaven Beer Fest
Perfect for beer-loving dads, this fest offers 150 beers to sample. Bonus: It’s located behind the Brookhaven MARTA station, so your designated driver is ready and waiting. Saturday, 3 p.m. spiralentertainment.com

Dialog: Material
Students in Georgia State’s sculpture department show off their latest conceptual pieces, which aim to re-examine materials and the ways they evolve. At the TULA Art Center. Reception: Thursday, 6 p.m.; Exhibit runs through Saturday. https://www.facebook.com/events/1408993549383668/

Imaginary Worlds
The Atlanta Botanical Garden event is the biggest mosaiculture exhibit ever staged in the United States. If you aren’t sure what mosaiculture is, we’ll save you the trip to Webster’s: It’s the art of creating sculptural forms out of metal and filling said forms with zillions of little plants. The 2014 show builds on last year's debut and is billed as “a new kingdom of plant giants.” It features twenty-eight blooming behemoths—including a pink unicorn. Through October. atlantabotanicalgarden.org

Atlanta Moon Ride
Be sure to pack your silver, holy water, etc. before heading out on nighttime charity ride that happens to fall on both Friday the 13th and a full moon. But those who face their fears will raise money to send chronic and terminally kids to the (much less spooky) Disney World. Friday 10 p.m. atlantamoonride.com

Tunes from the Tombs
For another not-as-spooky-as-it-sounds-at-first experience, why not rock out at historic Oakland Cemetery? No, really. In addition to bands, there will be food and beer trucks. Saturday 1 p.m. oaklandcemetery.com

AtlantaFest
The gathering at Stone Mountain features seventy Christian bands, among them the Vespers and Switchfoot. Through Saturday. atlantafest.com

IKEA Midsummer Feast
For a truly unique (and cheap) Father’s Day weekend buffet, head over to the Atlantic Station furniture giant for swath of Swedish dishes, including herring, salmon, and those infamous meatballs. Dinners will be served in four shifts on Friday evening; tickets are required for each seating and advance purchase is recommended. Dinner seatings are scheduled for 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., or 7 p.m. ikea-usa.com

Indie Music Festival
If you’re bored by everything on your iPod, four venues will host 37 independent artists this weekend. It’s always fun to have the “I knew them before they were famous!” bragging rights. Through Sunday. imrmusicfestival.com
