Author/Humorist/Drive-Your-Car-Into-A-Guardrail-Funny National Public Radio commentator David Sedaris returns to Atlanta October 27 for “An Evening With David Sedaris” at the Woodruff Arts Center’s Symphony Hall. Technically, tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. But fans need not wait especially when we have the scoop on a couple of brilliant pre-sale offers for fans.

Book lovers who shop at  Atlanta indie book shop A Cappella Books scored an email in their in boxes Tuesday with a link and the promo code “Read” to use while purchasing advance seats through Ticketmaster Wednesday and Thursday.  Also on Tuesday, Ticketmaster customers received their own email from the concert conglomerate informing fans that they could snag advance tickets through them using the promo code “Sedaris” until 10 p.m. Thursday night. Tickets range between $55.00 and $47.50 before those wildly popular service fees get tacked on.

The evening is being presented by WABE-FM 90.1 FM and National Public Radio News. Sedaris’ latest book is “Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary.” The author’s last two Atlanta area appearances were held at the Cobb Energy Centre, a venue that inspired many of Sedaris’ in-town OTP-phobic fans to loiter in the lobby before the event and gripe into their $12 plastic chardonnay glasses. A Cappella Books owner Frank Reiss and the event’s official book supplier tells us he’s ordering hundreds of Sedaris titles for the signing and, not surprisingly, among Sedaris’ hardcore constituency, his older titles still sell best and of course, his inimitable audio books recorded by the author himself.
