4. Puccini’s Madama Butterfly
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra stages one of its Theater of a Concert performances, an innovative genre combining live music with visual elements such as film clips, lighting effects, art installations, and semistaged opera. (6/9, 6/11–6/12)

5. Bard Bash
The Shakespeare Tavern presents an “irreverent, hilarious, high-speed romp” through the complete works of William Shakespeare. Yes, that’s all thirty-seven plays and 154 sonnets—performed by three actors in two hours! Othello goes hip-hop, and Titus Andronicus hosts a cooking show. (6/16–7/31)
