“I want to leave a bit of a legacy,” says Anne Quatrano of Bacchanalia’s move.

Anne Quatrano boldly moved Bacchanalia to a relatively unknown industrial area on the Westside in 1999. Now, she’s done it again, designing a stand-alone building to house her flagship and its adjoining cafe, Star Provisions, just one mile away, in another offbeat location. The changes to Star especially remind this city why Quatrano has been on top for so long: There are California-Mediterranean plated dishes (an omelet sandwich on a baguette, pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven, veal meatballs, tuna Niçoise) and charcuterie, oysters, and pastries to take away. starprovisions.com
