The Moth Tells Tales

I will be at Manuel's Tavern this Monday night to attend MothUp Atlanta, which is coming again to our parts. The MothUp, derived from "the hottest and hippest literary ticket" of New York, according to The Wall Street Journal, is getting its second Atlanta rendition this Monday, and the best way to describe it is to call it a crowd-sourced "storytelling performance." Oh, and you could also call it life-changing.

To see why you should be excited about going, just listen to this story recently told by wildlife conservationist Alan Rabinowitz about how, until he graduated college, he could literally only talk to animals alone.

Ever have a relative who said they were coming for a visit, but by "coming for a visit" they really meant "moving in for four goddam months," and it wouldn't be so bad if this was, like, a relative in need or something, but this is not a relative in need, this is a relative who is doing better than almost everybody you know, and speaking of almost everybody you know; almost everybody you know is in the media profession in some way or another, which means they are now working two jobs for the price of half of one, and sometimes it's all they can do to keep from sitting up at night clutching their computer hoping it will magically turn into a light at the end of the tunnel, but so far it hasn't done that, but at least houses are all selling really cheap if you want ...
