Our Place in the Universe: Apparently, Atlanta is pretty cranky
Hmm … how to reconcile these stats? A couple weeks ago, Atlanta was ranked tops in sexual satisfaction
. Now, another survey
puts us in the peak position for irritation. So much for the concept of sex as stress buster.
A study conducted by Sperling’s Best Places
on behalf of Edge shave gel examined eleven irritants -- including bugs, heat, traffic, pollen, humidity, and insomnia -- to come up with its list of “Most Irrititation-Prone” cities.
Oddly enough, while Atlanta got the top overall score, we did not place No. 1 for in likely categories like commuting (that honor went to NYC); crappy weather (Nashville); household pests (a three-way tie for Cincinnati, Birmingham, and Tampa), or allergens (Who knew? Kansas City is pollen city).
According to the study, the cities whose citizens are most likely to get cranky are:
3. Washington D.C.
5. Los Angeles
9. New York
The mellowest metropolises? Rochester, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis.
