What will Superintendent Hall say?
Today, Superintendent Beverly Hall will outline plans how the Atlanta Public Schools intend to address an investigative report on alleged cheating within the system. The AJC reports that the School Board is still debating whether to accept the findings of the cheating investigation, which flagged more than two-thirds of its elementary and middle schools. Nearly five dozen schools were affected.
The AJC also raised questions about the system's rising graduation rate and rising dropout rate, wondering if Atlanta Schools were using "questionable math."
While thousands of high school students disappeared from APS rolls, the system had a laudable increase in its graduation rate. Is there a connection, the AJC asks.
