The Sound Table

“Strong, Rich & Strange” may describe Don Draper, but it’s also the best name ever for a drink list category. And with fantastic, Bizarro World creations like the White Tiger—which includes Batavia-Arrack, coconut milk, garam masala, and orange flower water—you know the Sound Table delivers on its descriptors. This Old Fourth Ward sensation is one of a handful of places we take cocktail-loving visitors looking to be impressed. Small plates (oxtail tacos, grilled prawns, great Belgian-style frites) are made with even more finesse than when the place opened in 2010.

Drink This: Horse’s Neck, with bourbon, three kinds of bitters (Peychaud’s, Angostura, and Regans’ Orange), and ginger beer.
