Dining out is an experience, but there are times when you crave the comfort of home, yet don’t have the bandwidth to shop and cook. Atlanta-based companies like
Peach Dish and Garnish & Gather have taken note, delivering packages with all the ingredients needed to cook a meal. Chef Christophe Le Metayer—who owned a restaurant in France and worked at the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead—is taking the trend a step further at Christophe’s To Go, selling prepared gourmet meals that simply need to be reheated.

With new locations in Brookhaven and Sandy Springs and a recently rebranded spot in John’s Creek (formerly Christophe’s Kitchen), Le Metayer has a goal of eventually serving healthy and tasty meals to go for 10,000 people.

“The idea is to make people’s lives easier,” he says. “Everyone’s busy for different reasons, but it’s nice to have a really good meal already prepared in the comfort of your home.”

Le Metayer prepares more than thirty options daily, ranging from salads, soups, and sandwiches, to fish and meat dishes. Items are available a la carte and as assembled meals, and sold in individually portioned, compostable, and microwave-, oven-, and freezer-safe containers. There are no preservatives, and everything is made fresh in a central kitchen before being transported to the store locations via refrigerated vans.

The offerings may include Joyce Farms honey lemon chicken breast with kale, sautéed zucchini, and butternut squash drizzled with honey-lemon sauce; bison meatballs; and noodle-free turkey lasagna. Twenty to twenty-five percent of the menu changes monthly.

“Having worked in luxury [restaurants], I have a respect for the product and the food we are working with,” Le Metayer says. “I want things to be cooked the right way but as simple as possible.”
