Friday, December 11
HANUKKAH AT ALON’S
The Jewish Festival of Lights begins at sundown today, and to help celebrate, Alon’s will offer traditional noshes during the holiday season, including braised beef brisket, potato latkes, noodle kugel, rugelach, and Middle Eastern platters.

MARLOW’S TAVERN TURNS TWO
Kennesaw’s Marlow’s Tavern celebrates its second anniversary on Friday with $5 appetizers, $5 cocktails, and live music by Zaib Khan. The evening’s festivities begin at four, and one patron will win fifty-two $30 gift certificates, one for each week in the coming year.

Saturday, December 12
KEVIN’S GREEN MARKET DEMO
He may not have won the title on Top Chef: Las Vegas, but Woodfire Grill’s Kevin Gillespie is keeping busy in Atlanta (just try to get a reservation at his restaurant). BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
Village Tavern hosts its annual Breakfast with Santa event this Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. when Santa pulls in on a fire truck. Tickets cost $10 for children under twelve years old and $15 for adults, and reservations are encouraged.

Sunday, December 13

FRANK SKI CELEBRITY WINE TASTING
The Frank Ski Kids Foundation presents its sixth annual celebrity wine tasting and live auction at Frank and Tanya Ski’s Dunwoody estate this Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Celebrity co-hosts include Andrew Young, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and on the culinary front, the event entails catering by Carrabba’s Italian Grill and plenty of wine from labels Opus One and Silver Oak. Among the items up for auction are a painting of President Obama, a walk-on role in a Tyler Perry movie, and autographed sports memorabilia from Tiger Woods. Tickets cost $250, and reservations are required.

Saturday, December 19

BON APPÉTIT, Y’ALL SIGNING
Virginia Willis will stop by Star Provisions next Saturday to sign copies of her classic Southern cookbook, Bon Appétit, Y’all, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The book’s 200 French-Southern recipes, including one for red velvet cake, make it a fitting holiday present, and it’ll be on sale at the gourmet shop.
