Get Dinner To Go_SalmonWe’ve all turned to the nearest fast food chain when we’re low on time. Drexel Mitchell wants us to consider his new concept, Get Dinner To Go, an order-ahead takeout spot offering made-to-order meals ranging from sweet and savory salmon to baked ziti.

Opening mid August in the former RadioShack space at 3695 Cascade Road, Get Dinner To Go will serve lunch and dinner with items ready in five minutes or less. “We’ll have healthier choices and comfort food staples,” Mitchell says. “We’re targeting Millenials and soccer moms—people who don’t have time to cook or don’t want to.”

A private cook and caterer from St. Croix, Richard Jensen Jr. will lead the kitchen. Menu items can be ordered as a meal (an entree with two vegetables and bread) either individually or family style (serves four). Options include chicken Caesar salad, braised cod bits, double barrel bourbon baby back ribs, steamed broccoli, and whipped garlic potatoes. There will be weekly specials as well. Piece of Cake will supply most of the desserts with the exception of Mitchell’s mother’s apple pie, which will be made in-house.

Meals can be ordered online or on the phone, as well as in store (if you order in advance, they’ll bring it out to your car). The store will have eight seats for anyone who wants to eat in. Mitchell hopes to open four more locations in the metro area in the next two years.
