Pastured Poultry Week at area restaurants and farmers markets through June 17
More than twenty locations around Atlanta including 4th and Swift, One Eared Stag, Pura Vida, Ecco, The Shed at Glenwood, and others will be serving Georgia-raised pastured poultry throughout the week. Even Wired Magazine is talking about it. Check out the video below with Shaun Doty.
Rising Star Gala at the Goat Farm Art Center on Wed., June 13, 6 p.m.
The historic Goat Farm Arts Center will host a showcase of StarChefs.com’s 2012 Atlanta Rising Stars, including chefs Ryan Smith, Guy Wong, Robert Phalen, and others. The evening includes tastings, drinks, and more from Atlanta’s up-and-coming culinary tastmakers.
Top Chef Judge Hugh Acheson Cooking Class at Cook’s Warehouse Midtown on Wed., June 13, 7 p.m.
The chef with the unibrow will be demonstrating recipes from his book, “Turn in the South,” which won a 2012 James Beard Award. A five-time consecutive James Beard nominee, Acheson competed on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters and is a judge on Top Chef. A meet and greet will follow and all proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
Head to Tail Dinner at H. Harper Station on Wed., June 13, 7 p.m.
Chefs Kevin Gillespie of Woodfire Grill, Joshua Hopkins of STG Trattoria, and Cynthia Wong of Empire State South will join Chef Joseph Ward to create a 4-course, pig-centric meal. Seats are $100 per person and include wine pairings. Proceeds from the event will benefit Wholesome Wave Georgia.
Route des Vins Wine Tasting at Le Caveau Fine Wines on Fri., June 15, 6-8 p.m.
Frederick Corriher of Route Des Vins Imports and two of his producers from the Southern Rhone Valley of France are debuting their wines in Georgia at this drop-in tasting. The cost of the event is $15.
Father’s Day at Canoe on Sun., June 17
Celebrate Father’s Day with Chef Carvel Grant Gould who has created a special menu for this special day. The brunch seating is from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the dinner seating is from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Father’s Day Brunch at Fleming’s on Sun., June 17
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is offering dads a 3-course brunch menu for $34.95. Dads will receive at $25 gift certificate to Fleming’s at the end of their meals.
Father’s Day Beer Dinner at Max Lager on Sun., June 17
Max Lager is celebrating Father’s Day with a $40 three-course meal with beer pairings. Wash down homemade pretezels, smoked lamb ribs and caramel crunch cake with a Hopsplosian IPA, The Dark Side, and White Oak White.
