After envisioning “a community of cozy cafes where customers can get the freshest food possible,” Jenny Levison is opening two more Souper Jenny locations—a permanent spot on the Westside and a pop-up in Brookhaven—her last two in Georgia, she says. Earlier this year, Levison expanded to Decatur. Souper Jenny Westside will open at 1082 Huff Road, in the space formerly home to Urban Pl8, January 6. It will have a community table in the kitchen and the usual “bohemian” décor. Levison will be the opening chef and serve lunch daily, as well as a “very unique” Sunday brunch. (She can’t divulge details yet.) Next Tuesday in Brookhaven, Levison will begin hosting an eight-week Souper Jenny pop-up at 4274 Peachtree Road (previously Brookhaven Bistro). The space is only 1,000 square feet, so she’ll offer a reduced menu of four soups instead of six, plus two salads and two sandwiches. If all goes well, she’ll make the pop-up permanent. Both locations will have fresh juices from Juicy Jenny and gluten-free baked goods. Despite her spread around the city, Levison says she’s not interested in expanding into the suburbs. “I don’t want to franchise, and I like being within a distance where I can be hands-on,” she says. In a year, however, Levison may consider branching out to Laguna Beach, California, or Boulder, Colorado. “Places I can visit,” she explains.
