You’ve likely never heard of the Cake Hag. That’s because for the past 13 years, mother-daughter team Maggie and Katie Sweeney have lived on word of mouth. Crafting elaborate custom cakes (like a three-tiered remake of van Gogh’s The Starry Night) for friends and then friends of friends, the pair wandered from a tiny commercial kitchen in East Point to a church kitchen in Grant Park. Now they’ve finally found a retail home in East Atlanta Village’s We Suki Suki food hall, where they regularly sell out of the day’s slices. Look for the four-layer Aztec chocolate cake (filled with a chocolate-cinnamon mousse), a stunning Carolina carrot cake (below), and a peerless coconut cream pie set in a salty-sweet graham cracker crust. 477 Flat Shoals Avenue
