Booze followers should know that a sizable chunk of Atlanta’s mixological talent will be in one place this Saturday— Love is Love Farm at Gaia Gardens in Decatur—crafting drinks for charity. Different lists have circulated, but the latest lineup for Cocktails for Community appears to be Greg Best and Paul Calvert (who are together opening a concept in Krog Street Market); Bocado’s David Durnell; Miles Macquarrie of Kimball House; Julian Goglia of The Pinewood Tippling Room (apparently recovered from a broken hand); and Shanna Mayo of the Victory Brands group.

The cause is Community Farmers Markets’ “Double SNAP” program to make healthy food more accessible to low-income families. Proceeds from the event allows CFM—which operates the East Atlanta Village, Grant Park, and Decatur farmers markets—to double the value of SNAP, or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, vouchers, formerly known as food stamps.

Interestingly, it appears the bartenders will not be taking cocktail orders, but instead will mix up highball drinks featuring “innovative seasonal flavors.” Let that serve as caveat or enticement.

The evening also promises hors d’oeurvres, small plates and a cheese selection, with participation from local chefs David Bies, Jarrett Stieber, and Allen Suh, as well as Many Fold Farm and Preserving Place.

The event runs from 5-8 p.m. General admission is $75 and VIP tickets, which include a swag bag valued in excess of $100, cost $150. Click here to buy tickets or for more information.
