Puddles on Edgewood Avenue
On the side of Sister Louisa’s Church and Ping-Pong Emporium—a quirky bar filled with religious tchotchkes—you’ll find a giant portrait of Puddles Pity Party, the singing Atlanta clown who received national attention on this season of America’s Got Talent. Artist Chris Veal has several other popular murals around town, including a pop art lament on Atlanta’s awful traffic just steps away from Puddles.

Hosea Williams at Studioplex
The florescent depiction of the civil rights leader, painted by Fabian Williams on the side of the Studioplex parking deck in Old Fourth Ward, also features gold foil hieroglyphics. “When’s the last time you’ve seen a picture of Joseph Lowery or Maynard Jackson or Ralph David Abernathy? There’s not a lot of visual representation of these people, but hopefully this will help change that,” Williams told us this summer just after completing the mural.

We Heart ATL on the BeltLine Eastside Trail
This mural, created as a collaboration between artist olive47 and the now defunct Atlanta-based app Yik Yak, is arguably one of the cutest in the city.

Disco Kroger in Buckhead
The grocery store, just north of the Peachtree and Piedmont intersection, earned its moniker for the infamous Limelight nightclub that resided next door during the 1980s. Head around the side of the Binders art supply store to find this massive tribute, painted by Dr. Dax. But don’t put this trip off—Owner Equity One Properties has proposed a plan to transform the shopping center into an upgraded mixed-use development.

Larry Loudmouf
Greg Mike’s psychedelic art, most of which features his signature neon blue “Larry Loudmouf” character, can be found all across Atlanta. Look for the giant tiger head on the side of 8Arm, and the vivid Loudmouf and tiger mural in Midtown that sits facing I-75 South. [The one above has since been demolished, but was in Inman Park.]
