If you just hit Buford Highway for its fantastic ethnic entrees and spas, you’re missing out on one of the best, most affordable entertainment experiences in the city: private karaoke rooms. These mostly Korean- and Japanese-style joints along La Buford—such as Karaoke Melody and Hangbok-Happy Karaoke—offer a range of room sizes (which usually rent by the hour or, in some cases, by the number in your party); song lists as thick as phone books (including plenty of English selections); screens that play accompanying music videos; and often, the chance to snack on treats such as Korean sliced beef between performances. Call ahead on weekends—these places can get crowded. karaokemelody.com; and Hangbok-Happy Karaoke, 770-458-8661
