In the work that I do, in the writing of novels, I have shamelessly stolen from those memories, fragment by fragment—a look, a word, a touch, a laugh, a wail—and each time I shudder over the second life found in the stealing. I am from Vanna, and Vanna—the Vanna of my childhood—had the deep-good feeling of wonder and promise. –Terry Kay
Where we come from, in ways big and small, defines who we are. In February 2012, Atlanta
magazine shared the stories
of nineteen notable Georgians in essay form. Now, we're inviting amateur and professional filmmakers to tell their story—in ten minutes or less.
Two finalists and one grand-prize winner will be screened with official selections at the 2013 Atlanta Film Festival, and the grand-prize winner will receive $1,000. Up to ten semi-finalists will be screened on atlantamagazine.com.
Contest is open from April 2 through December 2, 2012. View contest guidelines
