PNC Bank presented Atlanta magazine’s Fourth Annual Groundbreaker Awards reception at the Atlanta History Center on Thursday October 29.

The Atlanta Magazine Groundbreaker Awards honor innovative people and projects. For 2015, the theme was “Building (and Rebuilding) a Better Place to Live.” The 2015 awards focused on work in development, preservation, parks, public art, and environmental stewardship. We recognized ways that the built environment can make Atlanta a healthier and happier place for all of us. This could range from a new development that emphasizes walkability and a preservation project that re-uses a historic building, to a park that serves as a catalyst for community renewal and cutting-edge technology that conserves energy.

The Groundbreakers Class of 2015 was selected from a wide range of fields, including: developers, builders, preservationists, tech firms, universities, nonprofits, and individuals who are passionate about Atlanta’s civic life. The 2015 Groundbreakers are featured in the September 2015 issue of Atlanta magazine.
