Now in its fourth year, the Atlanta Magazine Groundbreaker Awards honor innovative people and projects. For 2015, our theme is “Building (and Rebuilding) a Better Place to Live.” The 2015 awards will focus on work in development, preservation, parks, public art, and environmental stewardship. We’re going to recognize ways that the built environment can make Atlanta a healthier and happier place for all of us, whether it’s a new development that emphasizes walkability, a preservation project that re-uses a historic building, a park that serves as a catalyst for community renewal, or cutting-edge technology that conserves energy.
The Groundbreakers will be selected from a wide range of fields: developers, builders, preservationists, tech firms, universities, nonprofits, and individuals who are passionate about Atlanta’s civic life.
The 2015 Groundbreakers will be featured in the September 2015 issue of Atlanta magazine and recognized at an awards event in October 2015 during which we will name the Groundbreaker of the Year for 2015.
Nominations will be accepted March 24 through April 24.
