Spread over 144 acres in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains, Dalton State recently added four-year degrees in biology, chemistry, English, and history—all of which have the option for teacher certification in secondary education—as well as criminal justice and nursing. Students can choose to live in apartment-style dorms within walking distance of class. Nearby recreation includes hiking trails, trout streams, and state parks.
