Savannah State University

The oldest public historically black college in Georgia, Savannah State also is the oldest institution of higher learning in Savannah. The 201-acre residential campus is minutes away from the historic district and Atlantic Ocean beaches. The marine sciences program is the only one in Georgia located in a natural saltwater setting; students can conduct research in three environments: marsh, ocean, and wetland.
