CDC’s Zombie Apocalypse

The brain-eating has yet to commence, but thanks to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we’ll be ready. The Druid Hills–based organization decided to spice up a May 2011 blog entry on emergency preparedness with a walking-dead theme. The post-apocalyptic post garnered enough click-throughs, Twitter retweets, and Facebook “likes” to crash the site only two days later—a first. In addition to tickling our fancy with a nod to the pop culture obsession with zombies, the campaign scored national PR awards.
