The centerpiece restaurant of the W Atlanta-Downtown draws guests into its carnivorous clutches with gratis popovers—rich, billowing, and laced with Gruyère—and doesn’t stop until they’re sated from lush beef gilded with herb butter, clever sides with Gallic twists, and a worthy dessert or two. Its crisp, modern interior sets it apart from clubby steakhouses such as Bone’s and Chops, but the kitchen’s prowess also gives those old-liners some meaty competition.
