Seven Lamps

This gastropub from Drew Van Leuvan—a veteran of Atlanta restaurants who was most recently executive chef at One Midtown Kitchen—perches in the far right corner of the Shops Around Lenox. Its name references a nineteenth-century essay on architectural paradigms (such as “beauty” and “honesty”) and belies the casual atmosphere. Exposed brick, reclaimed woods from an old North Georgia mill, and a communal table near the bar set the tone for a laid-back meal. Arianne Fielder fuels local cocktail mania with winners like the Red Derby, a mingling of smooth Belle Meade bourbon with blood orange juice, tarragon, and honey. Nibble on artisan cheeses, cured meats, or oysters as you imbibe, but don’t ignore Van Leuvan’s frisky small plates like baked Ellijay apple with roasted mushrooms, sherry caramel, and a fluffy goat cheese sauce.
