Yeah! Burger – Westside

Chef Shaun Doty’s new spot on the Westside uses a healthy approach to take the guilt out of America’s most iconic sandwich: organic grass-fed beef from White Oak Pastures in South Georgia, incredibly light buns baked to perfection by two local bakeries (the gluten-free version may be the best you’ll ever taste), and a double-patty system to keep cooking time to a minimum.

Sensible toppings include sunny-side-up eggs, local tomatoes, and turkey bacon. If anything, the thick and juicy bison burger (served as a single patty) and the nicely seasoned turkey burger trump the other options. Nearly a dozen sauces—from white barbecue to Yeah! sauce, a riff on chipotle mayo—have been crafted to match the hand-cut fries and onion rings.

The place feels fresh and kid-friendly, but don’t worry: The grown-ups can order beer, wine, and cocktails. A second Yeah! Burger, now open in Virginia-Highland, spreads Doty’s gospel.
