Let’s hear it for shopping in the suburbs. Wear, which we declared the best OTP boutique of 2010, has finally secured its own digs now that Johns Creek’s Red Twig has closed. Duluth’s T., with labels such as Rag & Bone, gets better with age. And earlier this year, Roswell welcomed another hip destination. (In 2010 it got Vintage & Vogue, which we profiled last month.) Located in a shopping center miles away from the town’s historic area, ReMixx outshines its unfortunate proximity to a Super Target.

With an open layout, unfinished cement floors with cowhide throw rugs, and exposed ceilings, the boutique feels like something a shopper would run across in Westside or Inman Park. Enza Costa shirts and Romygold clutches pair with more unique finds such as Tikka Indian silk dresses. Lightly used handbags from such labels as Fendi and Prada add a high-end touch rarely found in the burbs outside a department store, while vintage-inspired diamond jewelry from Los Angeles’ Christiansen isn’t sold anywhere else in the metro.
“I am a consummate shopper,” says owner Candis Rosier. Thanks to her work as a consultant to on-the-go sports stars, the Paulding County native has uncovered the hidden gems of Middle America shopping. One of her fave spots is Max in Denver, where she discovered Parker Ochs handbags. When it came time to open her own place, the Dunwoody denizen couldn’t resist the siren call of the suburbs. 1145 Woodstock Road, Suite 605, Roswell, 770-645-7888, remixxboutique.com
