Atlanta 2040: What life will look like in the city’s third century

Art will go outdoors

Atlanta will continue to become more population dense, which will have several effects on the arts. Arts organizations, including regional institutions like the Woodruff, will develop programming that is hyperlocal to serve their immediate neighbors. We’ll be showcasing intimate events for 50 people announced just three days in advance. It’s almost a pop-up mentality. Second, there will be a high premium on outdoor events because people want to get out of their crowded spaces. And finally, art will be integrated into more urban spaces like Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
