Beth Kooby kept the color palette in the second-floor master suite simple in black and white—but that doesn’t mean it’s short on drama. She started with two bold artworks: Austin, Texas–based Ysabel LeMay’s supernatural digital collage and Kevin Chambers’s “Medusa” sculpture from dk Gallery in Marietta, and built the room around them. “I want the whole space to feel a bit like a fantasy,” she says, adding that she injected brightness with plants.

“Interior design should always relate to the architecture,” says Kooby, who founded her business in 2014. “I’m excited that Atlanta is moving past strictly traditional architecture and design.”
