Former Turner Broadcasting exec McGuirk became the Braves CEO in 2001, near the end of the organization’s 14-year division domination. He has since weathered the team’s 2007 sale to Liberty Media, a period of gradual decline in the MLB standings, and some major legal and PR drama surrounding the deal for the $672 million SunTrust Park—and a surrounding $452 million mixed-use development—opening in Cobb in 2017.

Expansion team Last March the Braves announced that Comcast would move its regional headquarters—and 1,000 jobs—to the development around SunTrust Park.
