Over its 50-year history, there have been only 77 members of the invitation-only Cowboy Artists of America, a group of accomplished Western painters, sculptors, and other artists. Through October 26, you can see works from every one of those men (yes, they’re all men) at the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, which hosts Blazing the Trail: The Cowboy Artists of America, an exhibition honoring the organization’s half-century mark. “CAA deserves a lot of credit for making the art world pay attention to Western works,” says Seth Hopkins, the museum’s executive director.
