Pet's breed: Whippet/ Larador Retriever
Pet's age: 7
Your pet gets in trouble when he/she: Tries to steal the basketball during gym time.
Your pet gets praise when he/she: Comforts a student.
Describe your pet's perfect day. As the therapeutic dog at Cumberland Academy of Georgia, Haley arrives early in the morning to welcome our students and greet our guests. In the afternoon, she makes her rounds in the school--accompanied by a faculty member, ensuring everyone is doing OK. She never misses a chance to help out during lunch or to participate in recess. During exams, she soothes our students with her cuddles, wagging tail, and gentle kisses.
What makes your pet special? Considering that our school specializes in the needs of children with high functioning autism, Asperger's, ADD, and ADHD, Haley plays a major role in our students' daily lives. She helps lower anxiety amongst our students and is a major contributor in providing a safe, supportive, and loving educational environment. She loves giving out cuddles and kisses, just as much as she likes receiving them. She makes school easier for our kids and we love her for it!
