Kentucky 75

By Lara Creasy of JCT Kitchen & Bar, No. 246, and the Optimist

My bar manager, Eduardo Guzman, and I came up with this one when trying to create a drink special that would appeal to both our male and female customers at JCT Bar. We always laugh about how predictable it is that any special we run based on prosecco will sell like crazy to the ladies, and any drink that's bourbon-based will sell like crazy to the guys, with virtually no crossover. We did this on a whim to try to trick them, and it worked! It's obviously a play on the idea of the French 75. It did so well, and we both liked it so much, that we put it on the permanent menu and it's still been selling like crazy.

Ingredients
1 oz. Wild Turkey American Honey
1/2 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. honey syrup (equal parts honey and hot water to dissolve)
2 oz. prosecco or other sparkling wine

Instructions
1. Combine American Honey, lemon, and honey syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well.

2. Strain into a champagne flute. Top with prosecco. (Can be served on the rocks if preferred.)
