You can thank Alice + Olivia for making pants cool. When the brand strode onto the scene in 2002, we discovered our legs could be decorated in prints! Sparkles! Cool silhouettes!

The clothes are funky but real-world wearable—arty prints on full skirts; high-waisted, wide-leg trousers; lightweight collarless coats; sweaters with subtle bling—and prices are relatively sensible. Plenty of silk tops and little twill shorts retail for less than $200.

Founder Stacey Bendet Eisner remains the brains and beauty of the brand as its CEO and creative director, even now that it’s carried in more than 800 stores and has 26 freestanding boutiques around the world.
