A question of justice: When should a district attorney heed the wishes of crime victims?

When Phillip Sailors shot and killed a young man who mistakenly pulled into Sailors’s driveway in Lilburn two years ago, the story made headlines from ABC News to the Huffington Post. The case was in the news again last November, when Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter announced he would not pursue murder—or even felony manslaughter—charges against Sailors, allowing the 71-year-old retired Bell South employee to walk free with a year of probation and a $500 fine.

Ed Kramer keeps Gwinnett deputies hopping with grievances

DragonCon co-founder Ed Kramer has been a busy man. A news story that aired a month ago on WAGA-TV showed that Kramer was inundating the Gwinnett Sheriff’s office with complaints, grievances and requests—three a day, on average—as he sits in jail awaiting trial on child molestation charges. Today, an AJC article suggests he’s still at it.

Ed Kramer asks for new bond, despite violating old one

Having been extradited back to Georgia from Connecticut after apparently violating one of the most lenient bond agreements imaginable, DragonCon co-founder Ed Kramer has now summoned the chutzpah to ask to be bonded out of the Gwinnett County jail, where he awaits trial on decade-old child-molestation charges.
