Michael Habachy was presented with a clean slate when a pair of empty-nesters asked him to help them transition from a spacious Morningside house to a Midtown condominium. The freedom that came with this project meant Habachy was able to create numerous custom pieces to anchor spaces throughout the home, recently opened 44-unit One Museum Place.

In the master bathroom, a modern farmhouse aesthetic took an industrial bent with brick walls, a concrete shower floor, and metal windows—the latter providing a view of horses.

A Georgia native, Wheeler founded J. Wheeler Designs in 2012 after a decade of experience in residential interiors. His classic-meets-contemporary style has been injected into small and large scale spaces throughout Atlanta and the Southeast.

Like many homeowners, Jessica McRae loves decorating but sometimes gets in over her head. One night she texted a photo of her bare coffee table to a designer friend. In just a few hours, her pal shot back a simple plan of what to buy and how to arrange it. Problem solved. McRae also realized she’d found a new way to deliver pro decor advice.

“We love adding shiplap because it adds so much character and depth. It makes a room feel so much more cozy,” says Roswell-area designer Anisa Darnell, who has been using the material—generally installed horizontally and painted white—for about five years.
