Southern Chefs Potluck
Shake Shack coming to Buckhead, the Lawrence loses another chef, and more
Atlanta’s first Shake Shack
Shake Shack, the iconic Madison Square Park burger establishment, is coming to Buckhead next year, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. It will open in mid-2014 at 3035 Peachtree Road, in the Buckhead Atlanta development planned for luxury retail space. Shake Shack’s local location will serve the burgers, hot dogs, and frozen custard that its Manhattan location has become known for.
The third annual Southern Chef's Potluck returned to the bucolic grounds of Serenbe yesterday. The sold-out crowd lined up for heaping plates of barbecue chicken, tomato pie, watermelon salad, cornbread, pickled okra, squash casserole and so on while keeping cool with cocktail-filled mason jars. In the distance, the goats and chickens of Serenbe lounged in the shade. A few bands from Atlanta played tunes for the crowd before the real main event: an auction to benefit Wholesome Wave Georgia. When the day ended, the event had raised more than $50,000 for the organization.
Once a year, Serenbe gathers some of the best chefs in the southeast for a potluck that would put your best family reunion to shame. This Sunday, the third annual Southern Chefs Potluck returns to the grounds of the Inn at Serenbe along with chefs including Hugh Acheson, Linton Hopkins, Steven Satterfield, Dan Latham, Anne Quatrano, Kevin Gillespie, Ford Fry, Todd Ginsberg, Joe Truex, Todd Richards, and Shaun Doty bearing dishes. The vibe is casual and friendly, dishes are served family-style, drinks are poured generously, and the pastoral grounds set the scene.
