The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta occupies a full floor of a two-story marble-and-mahogany retreat. An appointment affords access to the entire facility, so arrive early for a few laps in the pool or a stint in the sauna. Services include a signature tension-melting hot stone massage and customized facial that compare with treatments we’ve had at nationally ranked facilities (the Greenbrier, Canyon Ranch). Little extras really make the experience, like the way a technician warms a spa robe for you to slip into before switching treatment rooms, or the tray stacked with orchid-topped icy towels outside the steam room. The lowest-priced spa package is $250; a full day of treatments will set you back $660.
