Until last year, the annual Sample Sale was the only time that the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center was open to the public. But in 2012, ADAC reversed its long-standing policy and allowed consumers to browse its high-end home furnishings. (The catch is that many purchases need to be made through designers, though showrooms will help you find a professional if needed.) One peek inside and you’ll discover where designers find statement pieces like that perfectly faded Oushak or swanky walnut buffet. On May 3 to 5, check out ADAC’s garage for discounts—as much as 80 percent—then take the elevator upstairs to hunt for more treasures and reduced-price items.
