Braves add “Twilight: Eclipse” star power to upcoming Alumni Weekend

Over the weekend, the Atlanta Braves confirmed an infamous bloodsucker has been added to the roster for its charity Celebrity Softball game set for 2:30 p.m. this Saturday at Turner Field.

No, John Rocker is not staging a comeback.

“Twight: Eclipse” actor Daniel Cudmore, who portrays vampire Felix, another clothes-challenged actor in the popular big screen series, is set to participate in the exhibition benefit for the Atlanta Braves Foundation.

Other celebs set to swing a bat include: Collective Soul frontman Ed Roland, “Drop Dead Diva” actors Jackson Hurst and Josh Stamberg, singer Dionne Farris and former Braves Dale Murphy, Otis Nixon, Steve Avery, Sid “Sliiide!” Bream, Gene Garber, Marquis Grissom, Javy Lopez, Greg McMichael, Brian Jordan and Eddie Perez.

The softball game prior to the Braves match up against the Detroit Tigers is part of the team’s inaugural Braves Alumni Weekend running this Friday through next Monday.

Other fan-friendly events include fan meet and greet autographing sessions Friday and Sunday with Braves vets, including Murphy, Lopez, Nixon, Avery, Bream and others at Turner Field’s Fan Plaza.

On Sunday night, the current Braves and alum host the Diamond Gala, an evening of casino games at the Loews Hotel in Midtown.

The festivities wrap up Monday with the fifth annual Braves Foundation Golf Classic at East Lake Golf Club, featuring Jordan, Nixon, Murphy, Mark Lemke and Phil Niekro.
