Inspiration: Atlanta has always been at the crossroads of history and progress. It shows in our landmarks and our skyline, preserving history like the Patterson Funeral Home while new developments rise around it. But one thing in Atlanta never changes: the heat. Our summers our hot. Growing up, I had fond memories of cooling off at the pool with a Georgia peach, and nighttime catching fireflies as mom made us sweet tea. Every Fourth of July we would watch the fireworks on the fairways of nearby country clubs, cooling down with ice cold lemonade. Memories of classic Atlanta traditions that make this place home. But we are also a modern city at the forefront of media and culture, with pockets across Atlanta bringing influence from cultures around the world. I love exploring this city and discovering new pop-ups, new restaurants, and new people that bring so much life to this place.
The Calamity Jane is a cocktail that celebrates all these dimensions of Atlanta, the past, present, and future all together. The Gold Peak tea and peach are staples of Atlanta’s past, while the ginger and thyme bring the spice and growth of this city to the front of the palate. Tito’s Handmade Vodka matches the clean balance of the cocktail, and the extra chill swizzling provides makes the Calamity Jane an instant classic for a tournament that is an all time classic.
