Fifth Third Bank at Georgia-Pacific Center

1385

The Fifth Third Bank project renovated 4,165 s.f. of the former Olympia Prime restaurant located on the street level of Georgia Pacific Center. The bank’s interior features progressive bank transaction kiosks, new office spaces, custom casework, and ceiling features bringing the convenience of a full retail banking center to Downtown clients. This space was awarded LEED Certification under the USGBC’s LEED v3 for Commercial Interiors. The project was managed by CBRE, and ms consultants provided architectural and engineering services for design development, construction documents, LEED administration and construction support services.

The renovation included remodeling the vacated restaurant and demising the space for adjacent future tenants. The new retail banking facility utilizes the latest in banking customer experiences through the personalized kiosk teller stations and intimate conversation rooms throughout the space. The space uses a vibrant blue color palette and natural finishes pairing with the energy coming off the urban street environment. The minimum alteration to the existing exterior façade maintains the building integrity while adding the convenience of public ATM banking access within the vestibule.

This specific site was selected for LEED certification over other sites within Fifth Third Bank’s development footprint because it utilizes the adjacent public transportation and convenient services of the downtown environment. During construction, 99.8% of construction waste was recycled or diverted from local landfills. 28% of the building materials used was sourced locally. 100% of the energy consumed at this location is offset by the purchase of renewable energy credits. Indoor Environmental Quality measures are being used to ensure occupant comfort and safety through thermal comfort design, lighting controls and the use of low emitting materials.
