Joseph Christenbury is a board-certified ophthalmologist and partner at Eye Consultants of Atlanta. He specializes in cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery, and refractive surgery including LASIK, PRK, and Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) procedures. He routinely sees referrals throughout the state of Georgia and the Southeastern United States
for these surgeries and other complex anterior segment conditions. Eye Consultants of Atlanta is Georgia’s only private practice with subspecialty care in all fields of ophthalmology including cornea, retina, oculoplastics, glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, and cataract surgery. Dr. Christenbury completed undergraduate and medical school at Duke University. He then went to the Stein Eye Institute at UCLA in Los Angeles, California, for his ophthalmology residency training. He then completed his surgical cornea fellowship at Eye Consultants of Atlanta. Dr. Christenbury enjoys conducting clinical research and is a principal investigator for clinical trials at Eye Consultants of Atlanta. He has also published numerous articles in scientific journals. He is a board examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of other national ophthalmology societies. He also serves as a board member of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology. Dr. Christenbury has been selected as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly and Atlanta magazine. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and four young children
