Atlanta attorney turned novelist Emily Giffin had another reason to celebrate with her girlfriends over the weekend.
According to Variety, romantic comedy queen Kate Hudson is in “final talks” to join the cast of “Something Borrowed,” the film adaptation of Giffin’s debut chick lit novel.
If the deal is green-lighted, Hudson will play Darcy, the best friend of New York attorney Rachel whose gal pal status is tested after Rachel has one too many drinks and sleeps with Darcy’s fiance.
Now under contract on the picture are “The Office” actor John Krasinski and “Melrose Place” actor Colin Egglesfield.
So, which budding Hollywood starlet scored the primo role of Rachel in the film?
We have all the scoop in the inaugural edition of our column in the April issue of Atlanta magazine out this week.
“Something Borrowed” begins shooting in New York in April.
Giffin’s next novel, “Heart of the Matter,” meanwhile, will bow on book shelves on May 11.
