With the Labor Day holiday weekend looming, chances are you’ll be dashing out for some liquid refreshments at some point.

If you hit the Tower, Beer & Spirits location at 5877 Buford Highway in Doraville on Saturday between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., you can also scratch off a celebrity sighting and helping a good cause off your to-do list as well.

Rapper/actor/spirits spokesman Ludacris will be at Tower to greet fans and to pick up a hefty $10,000 check for his Ludacris Foundation presented to him by the folks at Tower.

The check presentation will kick off the store’s grand re-opening celebration of Tower’s fully renovated Doraville location.

The Ludacris Foundation is a non-profit focused on inspiring youth through education and memorable exepriences to live their dreams by uplifting families, communities and fostering economic development.

Luda’s own mom, Roberta Shields serves as the charity’s president.

In addition, Tower will be donating five-percent of every bottle of Conjure Cognac (Luda serves as the pitch person for the snifter sipped product) sold over the next year to his foundation.

Explains Tower owner Michael Greenbaum: “We’re elated Ludacris can be a part of our kick-off celebration.  We’re proud to support such a worthy cause.”

Adds Ludacris: “We all have a responsibility to turn back, reach back and give back. That’s why we do what we do and that’s why we are so happy to work with Tower and others that share our desire to help.”
