Would “Midnight Train to Georgia” have been so fantastic had it been called the much-less-romantic “Midnight Plane to Houston”? You can hear for yourself in this Extra video of songwriter Michael Weatherly singing his original version, which Weatherly now reveals was inspired by Charlie’s Angel Farrah Fawcett and her husband at the time, Lee Majors.

Another Atlanta connection? The song was reworked to its “Georgia” version by former resident Whitney Houston’s mother, Cissy.
